On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the 1942 Lounge in Washington, D.C. came alive with soulfulness, sound vibes, and warm celebration for the first-ever 44 Shades of Tan Brunch Bash — an unforgettable gathering that brought together friends, family, and community changemakers across every shade of brilliance.
This was no ordinary brunch. It was an experience — a joyful fusion of Black and Brown elegance, joy, and connection that reminded us what’s possible when community shows up with intention, love, and style.
A Celebration Rooted in Purpose
Created by ShaJuan Chance Underwood, Founder and Executive Director of Honey Helping Hands (HHH), 44 Shades of Tan was more than a birthday celebration — it was the official launch of a movement.
Guests enjoyed a soulful brunch buffet, signature cocktails inspired by the theme, a global house DJ spinning energy into every corner, and the relaxed vibes of an outdoor cigar lounge. But beyond the atmosphere, the event carried a deeper pulse — one rooted in genuine care and cultural connection and community investment.
