ShaJuan Chance Underwood knows what it means to lead with empathy, love, dedication and service. A mother, wife, organizational leader, and community servant, ShaJuan grew up in Savannah, Georgia, shaped by the beauty and challenge of her community and driven by a belief that every girl deserves
the chance to shine.
As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she built a growing enthusiasm for volunteer work and mentored middle school girls at the Delta Academy while also deepening her international awareness and connections.
She also remembers playing soccer as an adolescent girl and loving the freedom of the wind on her back as she moved the ball towards the end goal. ShaJuan felt a sense of leadership and prowess in herself and a growing belief in her capacity to do whatever she set her mind to. However, as the only Black girl on her team she also dealt with undercurrents of discrimination, exclusion, loneliness, and not being seen or valued for the position she played on the team.
With over a decade in federal law enforcement, leadership roles in hospitality, finance, education, and a heart committed to service, ShaJuan founded Honey Helping Hands to build more than opportunities— to amplify belonging, health, and resources for Black and Brown girls and women across different stages of life.
